WORKING WITH NICO

INTERESTING PROJECTS

Through us you get to work on big and interesting projects. In addition to our own top clients, we have a large number of framework agreements with high-profile organizations through our parent company Fujitsu.

You can freely pick the most interesting projects out of the hundreds that pass through us. We will of course suggest the most suitable ones, but you can also freely turn down any projects that you are not keen on. We will take note of your preferences for future projects and map out possible work assignments accordingly. You also have the opportunity of doing one day of paid charity work per year.

FLEXIBILITY

Working for Nico is all about freedom and flexibility. This applies to e.g. working hours, where you work and how much say you have in your work. We offer the freedom to choose what you do and how much of it you do. You can choose a project based on your own interests and adjust the amount of work to suit you. You can also impact your working hours and where you work. We care about getting the agreed work done, not where and when it gets done.

PAYMENT MODEL

Our payment model is open and competitive. You get paid for the work you do based on client billing. We also handle holiday and sick leave payments based on the collective agreement terms. You get to organize your work freely and have an impact on your earnings while enjoying the benefits of regular employment. Our staff benefits are more generous than usual: specialist level occupational health services, eyeglasses reimbursement, ePassi lunch benefits, training pay, Fujitsu hobby clubs, Fujitsu and Nico staff events and much more. Your pay will always arrive on time.

OPENNESS AND TRUST IN THE WORK ENVIRONMENT

Freedom and trust are important to our culture. Our employees value the freedom they receive in their work and the positive, open atmosphere. We are a modern company where employees, managers and the client trust one another. Our working culture is independent and entrepreneurial with a minimum of bureaucracy. We will take care of admin so you can focus on giving your best to the project. Working with us is hassle-free and transparent. Team managers have responsibility for their respective areas of competence and will always be on hand to provide help and support. Our working community consists of experienced IT professionals, so colleagues can also be called upon for help and support – other employees often face similar challenges.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

It is easy to develop your personal expertise while working with us. We encourage our employees to broaden their competence continuously and offer every employee an annual training allowance that can be used to develop their expertise or to e.g. become certified. We also offer extensive online training opportunities, as our parent company provides free access to several online learning platforms.

EQUALITY

We enable working through different life stages, foster diversity and emphasize equal treatment. Income is one area where we provide equal treatment: we follow an open payment model and pay the same salary for the same work, regardless of gender or nationality. Every employee can also nominate anyone to be recognized for excellent work.

WORKING WHILE RETIRED

Retired but still eager to work? Working past retirement is increasingly common, especially in less physically intensive fields, such as IT. Lack of competent professionals is another factor calling for extended careers. Our flexibility makes it easy to work during retirement while still leaving time for other things – we already employ a number of energetic people with a strong work history in the field. If you are approaching retirement age and would like to keep working on IT assignments, get in touch at recruitment@nico.fi and tell us more about your situation, so we can discuss opportunities that suit you. Also have a look at Eino’s story about working past retirement age.

CAREER STORIES

Eino Uikkanen

“"While working at Fujitsu I had also become familiar with our subsidiary Nico and their consultants. I became interested in Nico's way of working and asked for an introduction a year in advance of my retirement", Eino says. "I could immediately tell that Nico's concept is fair and transparent, but simultaneously light and functional."”
