Teppo Valtanen - 15 years of experience in the ICT sector

I have worked in the ICT sector for 15 years now, both in Finland and on several international expatriate assignments. After having had a break from work - spending time with my kids at home - Nico offered a quick way to get back to work without going through a long recruitment process.

I have been employed by Nico for almost a year now. I have an overall responsibility for the deployment phase of a couple of products in the customer organisation. An interesting feature in my work is to be involved in multiple projects simultaneously and to look for synergies between them. Even if I have a comprehensive responsibility for my own area, it doesn't mean that I would work alone - on the contrary, the contribution of several people is needed.

The contracting model used by Nico is suitable for professionals who are equipped with an entrepreneurial spirit and ready to take the bull by the horns. The best thing about my job is the interesting and hectic projects on which I can concentrate 100% as a Nico employee, since typically, the workload of the project does not grow along the way. The working days finish duly, I don’t need to spend evenings at the office. Moreover, longer summer holidays are possible, if it suits the customer.

I am a husband and a father of two boys and a girl. The boys play ice hockey and football, which means that my free time is filled with coaching. Our little princess still plays at home due to her young age. I also play ice hockey myself in two different teams. In summer, I can't resist the noble sport of fly-fishing and at the lakeside where I can test the flies that have been tied during the winter.
