Rasvan Constantinescu - Senior Consultant, 11 years in Finland

I came to Finland in October 1999. After 11 years, I still like it here. Two of my three daughters were born here. There’s just something about this country... I can’t tell if it’s the environment, the know-how, the people - or all of these and something more.

My last 15 years have been spent in the ICT industry, changing roles from SW Design Engineer to Technical Director and from Project Manager to Senior IT Management Consultant. Nico is my third employer in Finland.

So why Nico? Because Nico’s recruitment process was faster, compared to other companies, and because the management trusted me. I now work as a Senior Consultant and currently I have an assignment as a Product Manager in the IT organization of one of the top 5 blue chip companies around the world.

In this assignment in the Product Management area, I deal with Top Management. There is no rocket science behind working with any stakeholder group - proactive attitude is the key thing. You need to establish the communication channels and create visibility. You need to be honest, work transparently and in a professional way. You need to act and react in real time and follow up issues until they are completed. In this way, the supporting role of the IT organization in Business will be fulfilled.

Of course, in the end of the day, I sometimes feel tired. It's only natural. The balance in my life comes from the ones who love me, from practicing Tai Ji and from studying history.
