In Nico we are working in many different positions and roles. Our team is made up of both senior and junior ICT professionals. The common qualities for us all are initiative, willingness to learn new things and readiness to take the bull by the horns..
During my employment history I have been involved in many kinds of Change Management, Communications and HR tasks in the IT sector. I hold a M.Sc. in Business Administration with major in Human Resource Management. Drifting to the Change Management area was actually something of an accident – years back I was working at a company where a Change Management and Communications team was formed and got involved in it. I have been working in this area for about 8 years now. I joined Nico some six months ago and my role is a Change Management and Communications Consultant.
In my work I have been able to use and combine my Change Management and HR competences. As a matter of fact, I am currently working in a customer project which focuses on renewing the customer’s recruiting tool and processes.
The best thing about my job is its variability. Projects differ from each other and you always learn something new about them. This also brings challenge about the work, because jumping into a project that deals with a new knowledge area requires ability to adopt new things quickly. In my opinion, the most important qualities of a Change Management Consultant are, indeed, his or her own readiness for a change and the ability to internalize new things fast. In addition, you need to be prepared to create a new network of stakeholders at the beginning of every project, as this work cannot be done alone – things need to be pushed forward in collaboration with different stakeholder groups.
In my current assignment, my tasks mainly consist of Communications activities, Training, and organizing and facilitating planning meetings and workshops. The best thing about my job is that the tasks may vary from one assignment to another and also between different phases one project, as the needs arise.
You learn a lot in different customer assignments, which naturally supports professional and personal career development. In Nico, you are also encouraged to attend courses. Working hours are flexible and I have a fair degree of influence on how much I work. In addition, the salary system is encouraging. I personally like the fact that the tasks change constantly, so in that sense Nico is a great place to work for me. In my spare time I practice all kinds of sports, which nicely balances the office work.
